Caption	Amalia Coronis Coinis with her children Irene, George, and Katherine in 1929. Photo was taken in Greece, while they were visiting relatives on Patmos. In 1928, Amalia and her two older children went to visit in Patmos, leaving Nick behind. They were only going to visit a short while, but Amalia did not know she was pregnant when she left Houston. When she realized this, she couldn't make the hard journey back home while pregnant. After George was born she couldn't travel with a newborn. Then the Depression hit and it was very hard to raise the money to get home. Eventually they managed to return in 1933. Paul Coronis, her father, escorted Amalia and her children back to Houston, stayed for a few years and returned back to Patmos in 1935 or 1936. Mrs. Cramer said, "Fortunately the baby looked just like my father or my mother never would have been able to come back to Houston - she'd've been in big trouble!"
