Caption	June 12, 1949. Wedding of Angelo Petheriotes and Beulah Demetre -- their reception at the American Legion Hall on Jackson Street. The band was Buddy Brock's when he was just starting out. The band played American music for dancing, then they also had records for Greek dancing. They were married at Annunciation Church, the afterwards the wedding party went to Ship Ahoy for dinner, and the reception later. It was a traditional reception, with the bride and groom cutting the cake, throwing the bouquet to the crowd, photographer taking all the traditional shots. The bride and groom have the first (American) dance, then others join in. When the Greek dancing starts, the families of bride and groom have the first dance and others join in. The main thing Greek about such celebrations is the Greek dancing and Greek pastries, but these are in addition to the American traditions. Standing: Willie Peet, George Galanos, Steve Demetre, Katherine Pontikes, Theodore Galanos, Marie Galanos, Betty Demetre (Colovas), George Vlahakos, Rula Economou (Zografos), Tasos Pappadas, Katherine Petheriotes Matandos, and James Petheriotes.
