Caption	Wedding portrait of Pete Moss and Julia Lardis Moss. Pete Moss (Mousouliotes) came to Houston in about 1916 because he had a first cousin here, Angelo Mytelin (their mothers were sisters). He had fought for Greece in the Balkan Wars in around 1912-1913 and when it appeared that he would have to serve in the army again during World War I, he decided to emigrate because he'd had enough of fighting. He went to work with Mr. Mytelin in his cafe, the Blue Front, and eventually became a partner. Then he opened restaurants of his own and also invested in real estate. Julia Lardis immigrated here in 1920, and they were married in 1924, when this photo was taken. She was a housewife and the sister of Maria and Gus in photos MSS0199-0009 and MSS0199-0010.
