Description	General aerial view of shipyard looking due southwest from point above northeast corner of Outfitting Pier. Building in immediate foreground is Group Shops Building, and adjacent thereto is the Receiving Building. The small buildings grouped to the right of the Receiving Building are the Outside Office and Issue Building, Outside Toiler Building, and the Paint Shop. Large building at left is Main Shops Building, with Mold Loft overhead. Small building to left of Main Shops Building is jointer shop to be used by Steve's Sash and Door Company for woodwork on the EC-2 vessels. Large building at center right is new Plate and Angle Shop, or the Shell Plating Shop. This building divides the six ways (foreground) of the original facilities from three ways (background) of the additional facilities. Group of buildings at center left is Administrative group, and consists of Administration Building, Personnel Building, Hospital, Cafeteria, Clock Alley, and Locker Building. Main parking lot at left background, access road to highway left background. Shipways one through nine in order from bottom of picture to top of picture. Hulls 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 located on shipbuilding ways 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 respectively. Hull number 26 may be seen on shipway number 7, beyond new Plate and Angle Shop. Open area in center of picture in use as welding areas with ship work in progress as well as for storage. Gantry Cranes in operation and being erected all along original facilities. Outfitting Pier extends along Houston Ship Channel at lower right of picture, and along slip at left of picture. Concrete structure visible is Gantry Crane Runray.
