Jagdish
Sharma
had his
early
education
in
Jodhpur
,
India
. He
earned
his
medical
degree
(MBBS)from
Jaipur
, and
MD
in
Internal
Medicine
after
research
in
epidemic
encephalitis
. In
1960
he
started
his
first
job
as an
Internist-in-Charge
in the
Medical
Ward
of
Western
Railway
in
Ajmer
,
India
. For
further
studies
, he
moved
to
U.S
. in
1964
for
residency
in the
Massachusetts
General
Hospital
in
Neurology
. He
returned
to
India
,
hoping
to
get
a
good
job
, but
unfortunately
had
no
luck
. With the
help
of his
Professor
in
U.S.
, he
got
a
job
at the
Methodist
Hospital
in
Houston
,
Texas
. In
1975
, he
started
his
own
practice
as a
Neurologist
. His
love
for
Houston
led
him to
stay
here. He
finds
Houston
a
thriving
,
friendly
and
cosmopolitan
city
. He
started
the
Indian
Doctors
'
Assn.
, of
which
he was the
President
for the
first
2
years
. He
is
also
involved
with the
Texas
Indo-Medical
Physicians
Society
and the
American
Assn
. of
Physicians
from
India
,
who
do
a
lot
of
charity
work
like
free
clinics
and
holding
the
help
line
.
