Description	Mail Cost, Date: "03/ /64": Footage of policemen outside of a building, followed by footage of a room full of letters. -- Hussain, Date: "04/01/64": King Hussein of Jordan arrives on an airplane and drives away, accompanied by a police escort. -- John Glenn, Date: "04/ /64": Interview with astronaut John Glenn at his home, shortly after he resigned from NASA in order to run for the Senate in his home state of Ohio in the 1964 Democratic primary election. Glenn withdrew from the race after sustaining a head injury from his bathtub that left him unable to campaign. -- Percy Foreman, Date: "04/ /64": Courtrooms scenes involving Percy Foreman, Attorney at Law. At one point a woman and a baby enter the courtroom in a hospital bed. Footage is upside down and backwards. -- LBJ Ranch - Summer, Date: "07/ /64": President Lyndon B. Johnson and others at the LBJ Ranch in Texas, eating barbeque and socializing. Footage of President Johnson riding a horse, as well as exteriors of the "Texas White House" and surrounding property. -- Summer Pop Concert, Date: "07/ /64": An older man riding a bicycle.

Background	This film reel contains short segments on news events in the Channel 11 viewing area, mostly within the city of Houston. The segments were filmed prior to the news show, and the anchorperson would have provided a voice-over describing the action and highlights of the news story. Each reel contains a series of film clips literally spliced together end-to-end without the benefit of the transitional commentary supplied by the anchor. This format eliminates introductory summaries as well as entire news stories narrated live by the anchor during a broadcast. Neither the sound track or the film visual contain on-camera anchor material. The titles that have been assigned to each film clip were created by people working at KHOU-TV, probably the camera operators or editors.
