Police escort a woman away. A police officer is interviewed about a stand-off. Their mother is interviewed and expresses her gratitude for improvements to her house and the donations. A man describes the improvements -- Derby Day U of H, Date: "05/02/69": Footage of college students participating in Derby Day games. -- Apollo Stamp, Date: "05/02/69": Footage of a man holding up envelopes bearing Apollo 8 stamps and women affixing the stamps to first day issue postcards. -- Welfare, Date: "05/01/69": Footage of an office crowded with children, and a brief clip of girls arguing with someone off-screen. A man is interviewed about the limited ability of the office to help the children. A bus arrives to take unattended children back home. -- Symphony Returns, Date: "05/01/69": Symphony members disembark from a plane to greet family on the runway while a marching band plays in the background. -- School Air Conditioning, Date: "05/01/69": Footage of a man speaking to a roomful of people. Background	This film reel contains short segments on news events in the Channel 11 viewing area, mostly within the city of Houston. The segments were filmed prior to the news show, and the anchorperson would have provided a voice-over describing the action and highlights of the news story. Each reel contains a series of film clips literally spliced together end-to-end without the benefit of the transitional commentary supplied by the anchor. This format eliminates introductory summaries as well as entire news stories narrated live by the anchor during a broadcast. Neither the sound track or the film visual contain on-camera anchor material. The titles that have been assigned to each film clip were created by people working at KHOU-TV, probably the camera operators or editors.
