Description	Elite Hotel Murder: Footage of the exterior of the Elite Hotel, as well as a brief shot of a staircase. -- Ford Layin, Date: "4/4": Footage of a staircase that leads into the ground, with a view, presumably, of the room at the bottom of the staircase. -- Policy [Police] Raid, Date: "4/8": A policeman dumps out the contents of a bag, and then Lieutenant Belcher answers a question about screened books. -- Jim Mayor - Omit on Ballot, Date: "6/2": A man answers questions about a pledge that was left off of ballots used at voting locations, while mail ballots were sent out with the pledge. -- Almeda-Genoa, Date: "5/3": Cars are seen driving down a bumpy road, including a view from inside the car. -- Astronauts Lovell & Aldrin: Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell descend from a NASA plane and embrace their families. Members of the press continue to take photographs as the astronauts and their families pile into cars. -- Astronauts Arrive, Date: "7/21/": John W. Young speaks to the gathered press about being back in Houston. Michael Collins stands on the left. The two were the crew members of Gemini 10 (Gemini X), a 1966 manned spaceflight in NASA's Gemini program. Date of "7/21" matches the landing date of Gemini 10, on July 21, 1966. -- Bank Robbery, Date: "2/16": Exterior and interior shots of a bank, Meyerland State Bank, including the police gathering evidence of a bank robbery. At the end of the clip are interviews with two cashiers. -- Brenham Bands, Date: "3/28": Exterior and interior shots of a school in Brenham, Texas. At the end of the clip there is a brief interview with a man concerning threats made against the school. -- Bridge Collapse, Date: "4/27": Footage of damage to the base of a bridge in Harris County.

Background	This film reel contains short segments on news events in the Channel 11 viewing area, mostly within the city of Houston. The segments were filmed prior to the news show, and the anchorperson would have provided a voice-over describing the action and highlights of the news story. Each reel contains a series of film clips literally spliced together end-to-end without the benefit of the transitional commentary supplied by the anchor. This format eliminates introductory summaries as well as entire news stories narrated live by the anchor during a broadcast. Neither the sound track or the film visual contain on-camera anchor material. The titles that have been assigned to each film clip were created by people working at KHOU-TV, probably the camera operators or editors.
