Abstract	After graduating from Tulane in 1909, Leopold Meyer worked several jobs before being hired by the Foley Brothers, where he quickly worked his way up to the position of executive vice president. Meyer owned a small retail chain with his brothers, and served as President of both the Houston chapter of the Retail Credit Merchant’s Association and the National Retail Credit Association (in the 1920s and 1940s), as well as President of Texas Children’s Hospital from 1952 to 1972. He organized Friends of the Library of the University of Houston and supported a number of other charitable and cultural causes in the city. He died in 1982.
