Abstract	Jon Lindsay was born on Dec. 4, 1934 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He moved to Houston and started his own construction business. In 1974, he successfully ran for the office of Harris County Judge and served from 1975 to 1994. During his tenure, he initiated many projects like the construction of the Harris county Toll Road system, and was recognized as the Engineer of the Year by the Society of Professional Engineers. Among his other projects were Park development, Flood control and construction of Jail and Juvenile detention facilities. Jon Lindsay was elected to the Texas Senate in 1996, representing the 7th District of Harris County and served till 2006. He married Tony Lindsay, Judge of the 280th Civil District Bench.
