Abstract |
Businessman S. M. McAshan Jr., was born 1905 in Houston, Texas. His career with the cotton company, Anderson, Clayton and Company, started in 1927 when he worked as a checker in the classing room. He was the son-in-law of co-founder William Lockhart Clayton and worked as a trainee in several areas of the company which had international operations in Egypt, India, South America, and Europe. By the 1950s, Anderson, Clayton and Company had grown and diversified into insurance and food production. Mr. McAshan discusses security concerns for Anderson, Clayton and Company international personnel, inflationary economic conditions, and currency valuation. Mr. McAshan talks about the connection between world population increases, contraception, food production, and the costs for oil imports. |
