Abstract |
A native Houstonian, John Peavy received a degree in Business Administration from Harvard in 1964. While at Harvard, he worked at Vice-President, Lyndon Johnson's office, and also as a Council staff at the White House when Johnson was President. After completing his education, he returned to Houston in 1967 and became a self-employed attorney. His accomplishments were: Member of the Houston City Council; Justice of Peace, Precinct 7, Positon 2 from 1973-77; Judge of the 246th District Court from 1977-1994. His other credentials were: Member: Houston Area Urban League; NAACP; US-China Friendship Association; Director, Contemporary Arts Museum. |
