Title	Mayo, Edward
Abstract	Edward Mayo, an architect by training and a veteran of World War 2, was invited to become the registrar at the Museum of Fine Arts by James Chillman, then director of the Museum, in 1961, and held this position for 25 years. It was his duty to record and track all the artwork in the Museum and coordinate loans of art to other museums. He had close ties with many of Houston’s artists, art patrons, and collectors, and remained involved in the art community long after his retirement. He died in 2005 at the age of 86 in his lifelong Houston home.
