Abstract |
Carlos Jimenez was born in Brackettville, Texas in 1917. He and his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1926. He learned to play the bass with the help of his musical family, the Southern College of Fine Arts and Professor Antonio Banuelos. In this interview, he discusses the musical groups he played with, such as Johnny Velazquez and his band and the musical groups he was familiar with such as The Rancheros and Eloy Perez. The bands played mainly at weddings and quinceaneras. |
